Once a movie house, this downtown location is now home to Café Max. Established in 1985 by a local, Susie Mahler, the café has become somewhat of a local museum. The decor reflects the community’s history. Memorabilia of the town, lake and Culver Academies grace the walls. The café still displays its original tin ceiling from the early 1900’s.Fresh baked bread and homemade soups are a favorite.

Cafe Max has great food. They have a lot of Culver stuff on the walls. Their french toast awesome.
Love the atmosphere, and the food is great. Truly a local icon. The wait can be a little long at times, but it’s worth it. One of the best places to grab a great breakfast while enjoying Culver!
Food is amazing, atmosphere is just as great.
Good for breakfast. The turkey and cheese sandwich for lunch however was just turkey and cheese period. I could have made it at home. The chicken vegetable soup was good. The service was excellent.
Culver instition! Great service!
Our visit is always made nicer by the presence of Kim or Wendy as our server. They know our one grandson wants the cinnamon roll, without butter, every time he is with us. We appreciate this special service and it keeps us coming back.
The food is decent but quite often greasy. I have been here many times and it always seems that I am waiting for at least 15 minutes before a server seems to notice me.
I want to start blogging too, what do you think, which blog cms is good for noob?
